Arriving by Plane

The primary international gateway is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG). The airport is conveniently located approximately 70 km south of Novi Sad, positioned right along the highway route between the two cities, making transfers straightforward.

Airport Transfers to Novi Sad

To travel from Belgrade Airport to Novi Sad, you have three options:

  

Option 1: Taxi / Direct Transfer

Direct Taxi or Private Shuttle: A door-to-door taxi or pre-booked private transfer from Belgrade Airport to Novi Sad costs approximately €50/€60 (one-way). The drive takes around 50–60 minutes.

(Recommendation: Book an official airport taxi at the designated desk inside the arrivals hall or arrange a licensed transfer service in advance).

  

Option 2: Train via Belgrade Center

For public transit, you can connect to the high-speed railway line:

  • Airport to Train Station: 
    Take public bus Line 600 directly from the airport terminal to the Beograd Centar (Prokop) railway station. (Public transport in Belgrade is free of charge)
  • Train to Petrovaradin: 
    From Beograd Centar, take the train to Petrovaradin railway station (the stop immediately before/across the river from Novi Sad). Travel time is approximately 35–45 minutes. Tickets cost approximately €7/750 RSD and can be purchased at the station or via the official train ticketing app (Srbija Voz).

  • Petrovaradin to Novi Sad Center:
    From Petrovaradin station, you can reach Novi Sad using:

- The dedicated shuttle bus running between the station and the city center, or
- Regular public city bus lines 3 or 9. (city bus ticket in Novi Sad costs around €1 / ~100 RSD, purchased from the driver).
- A local taxi (around €5 / ~600 RSD to the city center)

  

Option 3: By Bus (via Belgrade Main Bus Station)
For travelers preferring intercity coaches:

  • Airport to Belgrade Bus Station: Take public bus Line 600 from the airport terminal directly to the Belgrade Main Bus Station (BAS).
  • Intercity Bus to Novi Sad: From BAS, frequent intercity buses depart for Novi Sad throughout the day (running roughly every 20–30 minutes). The ride takes about 60–80 minutes and arrives directly at the Novi Sad Main Bus Station (MAS), located next to the city's main transport hub. (approximately €8/850 RSD)
